Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Engineering.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and monitor plans for planing vessels (military or civilian speedboats), including calculations for performance, stability, hydrodynamics, and structural strength.
- Prepare, review, and validate technical and design documentation, including line plans, general arrangements, structures, and systems integration (propulsion, electrical, hydraulic, and onboard electronics).
- Apply and ensure compliance with technical and regulatory standards (ISO 12217, Brazilian Navy NORMAM, ABS, DNV, among others).
- Work collaboratively with Production, Quality, and Supply departments to ensure construction feasibility and compliance with performance, safety, and certification requirements.
- Participate in sea trials, performance tests, and approvals, analyzing operational data and proposing improvements. Perform analyses of materials and construction processes (naval aluminum, composites, welding, painting, etc.) to ensure the vessel’s structural integrity and durability.
- Support the complete life cycle of the naval product: design, construction, improvements, modifications, and maintenance.
- Technical Requirements and Experience:
- Proven experience in planing vessel design (speedboats, fast patrol boats, high-performance vessels).
- Knowledge of CAD/CAE software and specific hydrodynamic and naval architecture tools (e.g., Maxsurf, Rhino, AutoShip, Ansys).
- Experience with naval regulations and certification bodies (Brazilian Navy/NORMAM, ISO 12217, DNV).
- Knowledge of integrating gasoline and diesel propulsion systems (outboards and inboards), as well as auxiliary systems (electrical, hydraulic, onboard electronics).
- Experience in sea trials, instrumentation, and data acquisition for performance validation is preferred. Advanced English for reading standards and interacting with international suppliers.
