Product Engineering Coordinator (Naval)

Location: Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Naval, Mechanical, Automotive, Aeronautical, or related fields).
  • Postgraduate degree or MBA in Project Management, Product Engineering, or related fields preferred.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate Product Engineering time throughout the entire product lifecycle (New Product Introduction, Design, Continuous Improvement, Design Corrections, and Updates).
  • Lead design, certification, configuration control, modification, and improvement activities, ensuring compliance with technical and regulatory standards and specific requirements of national and international clients.
  • Manage complex product projects (Vessels), integrating disciplines such as structures, propulsion systems, electrical/electronic systems, hydraulics, and mission systems integration.
  • Coordinate a multidisciplinary team composed of engineers, designers, and specialists, ensuring synergy between departments and meeting technical objectives and deadlines.
  • Define, monitor, and track deadlines, schedules, key performance indicators (KPIs), and deliverables for Product Engineering.
  • Act as an interface between Product Engineering, Process Engineering, Quality, Procurement, and other corporate areas, promoting integration and efficient communication.
  • Ensure the application of project management methodologies (APQP, Stage-Gate, PMI, or Agile/Kanban) and market best practices in product development.
  • Lead processes to comply with audits, certifications, defense standards, navy standards, and naval classifications, supporting the time of the Specialist Engineer (Naval).
  • Technical and Behavioral Skills:
  • Proven experience in project and engineering team efficiency in the naval sector or in complex product industries (nautical, automotive, aeronautical, defense).
  • Solid knowledge of product lifecycle management (PLM/PDM), configuration control, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to analyze risks, propose project improvements, and implement robust technical solutions.
  • Collaborative leadership, focus on results, systemic vision, and ability to negotiate technically with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Fluent English for reading standards and communicating internationally is mandatory
