About the Opportunity:

Modirum | Gespi is launching a strategic initiative focused on the UAV Defence sector, involving the creation of a new, dedicated development team. To support this venture and ensure smooth operations, we are seeking a skilled IT Engineer. You will be responsible for managing, maintaining, and supporting the IT
infrastructure, systems, and tools used by the development teams, potentially including specialized environments required for defence projects.

Your Role in the Team:

As an IT Engineer supporting this initiative, you are crucial for enabling the productivity and security of the development teams. You will:

  • Install, configure, and maintain workstations (Windows, macOS, Linux), software development tools, and peripherals for the new team members.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access control across various systems, potentially adhering to stricter security protocols for defence work.
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues encountered by the development team.
  • Manage and maintain local network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs) relevant to the team’s workspace.
  • Assist in managing servers (physical/virtual) and potentially cloud resources (AWS, Azure, GCP) used for development, testing, or CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement and monitor security measures, including endpoint protection, patching, and backups, ensuring compliance with company and potentially defence-related policies.
  • Manage software licenses and inventory for the team.
  • Document IT processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Collaborate with central IT (if applicable) and the development teams (including DevOps/Backend) to ensure infrastructure meets project needs.
  • Contribute to the team’s overall success by providing a stable, secure, and efficient IT environment.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as an IT Support Engineer, Systems Administrator, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux).
  • Experience with desktop and server hardware troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, Firewalls).
  • Experience with user account management (e.g., Active Directory, Azure AD, LDAP).
  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) is a plus.
  • Experience providing technical support and working with ticketing systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience supporting software development teams and familiarity with development tools (IDE’s, Git, CI/CD tools).
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure in secure or regulated environments (e.g., Defence, Finance).
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) administration.
  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+/Security+, Microsoft Certified, CCNA).
  • Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Bash)
