What is the Armed Forces Covenant?

The Armed Forces Covenant is a national promise to ensure that those who serve or have served in the Armed Forces, along with their families, are treated fairly. It acknowledges the sacrifices made by military personnel and pledges to provide them with equal opportunities in civilian life.

The Covenant is upheld by businesses, charities, local authorities, and organisations that commit to making a difference in the lives of serving personnel, service leavers, veterans, and their families.

✔ Encouraging reservists – Supporting participation in the Reserve Forces and providing additional paid/unpaid leave for training, mobilisation, and deployment.
✔ Promoting the Armed Forces community – Engaging in national Armed Forces initiatives, supporting events like Armed Forces Day, Reserves Day, and Remembrance activities, as well as military charities and cadet organisations.
